I haven't thought much of Jeanette Fitzsimons ever since, in 2003, I wrote to her about the Green party's endorsement of the "fart tax" (remember Pete Hodgson's folly?) when she was on record as saying that the Greens never would endorse such rubbish. She wrote back saying something like "guess what? He was right after all" (obviously the wording is not exact, but her "guess what?" most definitely is exact).
However, she is alone in a politician (or actually ex-politician) in having the "guts" to do something like this. Actually when I think about it, if she was still the co-leader of the party she probably could not have done this, the ridiculing would have been too much to handle. Apparently she endorsed a book on the 9.11 scam and met with the author in Wellington. And "Fitzsimons said after her meeting with Gage that there were “some unexplained matters”. “What I’ve found is that there are a lot of highly trained people who say [the Twin Towers] could not have collapsed the way they say it did.” Asked if she was a 9/11 sceptic, Fitzsimons said: “I would say I’ve got an open mind. I’m not interested in conspiracy theories, I’m interested in evidence.” Kudos to you Jeanette! Here's the only new I could find confirming it, it shows how vitriollic and silly NZ writers can be, so you might not want to even bother reading it. The author of this blog shows himself to be a complete half-wit. Jeanette continues to push 911 lunacy | Kiwiblog |
